Oh!

When you plug in your xm radio, it will be through input, right? You can control the volume for your computer programs and input separately.

But first I have to figure out a program to use to play the input.

are you positive that they are inputs and not outputs??

Positive.

Why would my desktop have A/V outputs anyway?

A lot of times, inputs like that don't have a program. Like LINEIN and MIC don't use a program to play it, it's just an input and you can ether enable or disable it. It just gets played back through the speakers. It's almost like a passthrough, there is no program. Other than the volume control that controls that input.

Make sure they are inputs and make sure that nothing is muted in volume control. Also need to make sure you have the correct and latest drivers for the sound installed.
