HAN Tell me about the 94 Mercury Sable
exact opposite experience of my parents, who have owned 2 sables, and 1 taurus. i think 2 out of those 3 lasted over 200k. only one needed a headgasket replaced once during those 200k.
they have their issues, but they're certainly not ticking timebombs. the biggest thing with those things is that they pretty much did not change from when they were introduced in the late 80's to the later models. any problems that existed in the first run were still present years later.

And to be honest its the nicest car i've ever owned....I bought it on my own for $600 and have done everything i can to keep it lookin half-way decent...and i would hate for it to get wrecked.
So i'd rather buy a winter beater, and store the lude...than to wreck the lude and only have a shitty car.
