Default wtf? Ignition rotor stuck.

I'm doing my dizzy in the shitbiscuit and got everything taken apart, but the damn rotor wont come off. I undid the retaining screw and pulled, nothing. Tried prying from the other end with a flathead screwdriver, nothing. WTF, you're supposed to just be able to pull this thing off.

I know this is kinda on topic, but I figured I might get a larger response here. Move if necessary (89 civic si)

I'd give it a light tap with a rubber hammer, see if you can shake it up a bit.

winnar! Well, more or less. I put the butt of my screwdriver to it and whacked that from a few angles, but still had to pry like a motherfucker to get it off. I think I bent up a couple of the ridges on the little thingy to the right of the rotor, but everything seems to be running fine, so meh..

Thanks.

The "unofficial" method to removing the dizzy from my car is to take a flat blade screw driver to it and hit it with a hammer to crack the bakelite plastic, take out the bits of remains. Then take a pair of vice grips to the little ultra soft screw that stripped out when you looked at it. Then replace the dizzy with a new one.

Even if you get the screw out, it's almost impossible to actually pull it off the end of the camshaft anyways.

the screw came out just fine, but it was definitely cooked onto the shaft. I was afraid of using brute force because of the relative fragility of the surrounding parts.
