Default Compression pressure

Interesting reading here about the relation of CR to CP. I had never known the relation or for that matter heard the term of CP until a friend and I were talking about it tonight.

Yeah my Accord sits at 11.7:1 and pings on pump gas. so we were talking about ways to cure that while still keeping the performance which is when this topic came up.

Pretty cool shit.

What for my car?

Yeah it is out of the question unless I want to go through the hassle of rebuilding my motor to a lower compression ratio. My point was all motor and it is staying that way

Unless you get an AEM EMS, a better fuel system, and higher octane fuel.

Besides that Brett what is being said is that if you adjust the cam settings to allow a later opening you retain the power with the same setup (to a degree) and still run on normal fuel.

It is not all about fuel delivery, in fact in many cases it isn't about that at all.

It doesn't see street use anymore.
I can still run it on pump but I just have to watch it on the top end. If I get above 8k rpm it tends to get a ping. On 104 or better I can go to 9600 rpm with no issues.
