The grand or so that you will save on labor you will spend on tools, if you don't already have them. Rent the tools that you won't continue to use, like an auger for the foundations, which should extend below the frost line in your area*. All in all building a deck isn't that hard, and usually goes pretty quickly. The fun part (read artistic) is in the railings and how decorative you want them to be.

*depending on how deep your level of hell is.

If you need help just ask me. I just helped my dad lay down the foundation for a florida room he's building in the back of the house. The hardest part was digging the dirt up and smoothing out the concrete once we layed it down.

Yes, one was a 7/10 maybe but the other was straight Butch. They have already moved out and the new owners have moved in.

That shouldn't cost much at all. Definately do it yourself if you can and save a bundle of money by switching to Geico.
