Because it is a controllable mistake. An un-excuseable one at that. The facilities that house the mix output of live feeds are manned by an A1, whose sole responsibility is the quality and routing of all audio downstream of the facility. It would take the simple one finger move to move a fader bar down when she was off the floor. The A1 is supposed to be listening to the main mix out at all times. I would imagine this is going to cause a few heads to roll. You wouldnt believe the amount of cursing ones mother and retribution that occurs from a single static blip that occurs on-air, much less a fuck up like this. Blacklist. This probably ended a working man or two's career.

Hell, it's the same argument that conspiracy theorists use. Like those that believe 9/11 was an inside job.
I do not think that CNN does this on purpose, or that there is any specific conspiracy at play. However, if I was the boss at CNN I would seriously look at what these incidences do to the perception of CNN because you are right, there are probably a lot of right-leaning conspiracy theorists and I am sure a lot of right-leaning pundits that will jump all over this. While I am not a huge fan of CNN I do not believe the errors were intentional, but from a business POV this is not something good for the image of a publicly traded company that has to answer to their shareholders. I cannot think of any other company that would let mistakes like this continue on a repeated basis.

CNN apologized Tuesday for mistakenly promoting a story on the search for Osama bin Laden with the headline "Where's Obama?"

Seriously, chill out. A tech slipped up and didn't hit a toggle switch. Stuff like that happens.

It's a ratings gimmick. They're going for listenership...People just love this shit and are waiting with baited breath for it to happen.

Again, no counterpoint besides insult. Typical.
