Charges dropped against John Karr
u know I was thinkin.....we have a fingerprint system for criminals in a computer data base that can match up pretty much anybodys fingerprints....
why not have some type of DNA system?...when people are born just take a swab of their saliva or a piece of skin....if a crime is committed we can match up DNA through some sort of database....or are we not that advanced yet shoot idk..

Actually, I do not think a DNA database would be a big deal, even to the ACLU. Just as with fingerprints, you can not actually do anything with the info unless there is a reason you would need it. I think it is more of a money thing. DNA testing is still in it's infincy, so cheap, fast, and easy testing is still in the future.

How is it any worse than anything else the government has on you? They have all of your info...all the DNA would offer them is a double-helix string of A-Gs and C-Ts. Not a whole lot you can do with that unless you have something to match it to.
