Use firefox, delete any IE icons you have, don't use Outlook Express, use Open Office instead of MS Office. TURN OFF AUTOMATIC updates. My pc is running just fine.
If you choose not to use those buggy MS products, then the updates really don't matter. Who gives 2 shits about the latest IE bug this week, if you don't use it.... I don't worry about IE problems anymore, I don't worry about windows updates. My XP hasn't been "updated" for more than 6 months.
But then again I use Kubuntu more than windows anyway.

Not true. i specifically didn't d/l that one when I saw it and still get updates, now wether or not it got stuck in under another name is a different story. But I'm going to stop using the super infected pc next week when I get my vga adapter for my powerbook.
