Default Yamaha YSP-1000 Digital Sound Projector

It looks amazing but then again I never seen or heard the sound coming out of it in person. I thought it would look good with my LCD.

Total waste of money. You can get a much better setup for the price.

you'd need a square/rectangular room with unobstructed walls... or the sound field would be pretty shitty.

By the picture and the reflections it looks like a variation on Bose's idea of stereo everywhere with no imaging and spatial positioning of the objects on the screen. You could accomplish the same thing with an old Sony ES 505 DSP and two cheap little speakers. It has a variety of built in venues, or you could customize the delays of the sound from the extra speakers to make your room bigger or smaller.

Systems that rely on the reflectivity of the room are destined to mediocre performance in most home listening environments unless the room is a totally dedicated theater or listening room, and matched to the speaker's performance criteria.
