Default Noob audio help

I posted this in the audio forum and its kinda slow there h:

hey all. im a noobie to audio so bear with me.

ok so i purchased a beater (92 accord sedan) so my integra can take a break from daily driving.

Basically I would like to put a descent audio system into it. Not anything fancy by any means.

Front speakers will be 6.5 inch and the rears will be 6x9's

just purchased this head unit

now looking at the rms(17) is pretty low and I wanted something a little higher so i would like to get a 4ch amp.

basically I dont know what rms I should be looking for from an amp. I have a friend selling a pioneer 4ch 35rms amp for 20 bucks. I just want a good one but dont want to be like damn i should of gotten higher after i just purchased one.

also what ways(3 way 4 way 5 way) speakers should i get for the front and rears? thanks all

Your amp should be matched to your speakers so it depends what kind of speakers you would like to get. I think 35W RMS should provide a good enough improvement over the stock system.

It sounds like you don't want to put that much effort into this so I would suggest 3 way for the 6x9s and 2 way for the 6.5".

Having that amp will be a good difference to the amp in the headunit. I say do it. Cant really lose with it being $20.

Whats your speaker budget?

im doing the same thing with my civic right now. I researched a good 4 channed amp and hands down the audio world likes infinity amps becuase they are the best bang for the buck. i ended up getting this for $249. the Infinity Reference 7540a
