because I've been working for this publishing company for about 7 months. It took about 4 months just to get 4 days a week 32 hours. I was supposed to get a promotion and go to 40 hours a week plus an extra 3.89$ an hour in pay. I've been waiting paitently for this to happen and all the big wigs kept talking about it so today my boss Mike comes in and tells me that the "guys upstairs" the big shots are cutting me back ro 15-20 hours a week and instead of hiring people there getting rid of a bunch. I've just been looking foward to this forever and the fact that this is so sudden I have nowhere else to go job wise because CT is a shithole.

 

Sorry to hear it. I'd say it's time to put in some applications. If they've jerked you around like this already they will continue to.

 

I have nowhere else to go. There isn't many commercial publishers in CT and I'm very good at automotive, I'm not ASE, but I'm definetly worth more than 8$ an hour doing oil changes. But without that 36,000$ ASE certification paper I'm aparently not.

Are you in College? If not consider a technical school at least, they're not too expensive and can lead to a descent job.

 

I already went to a Tech School and got my certificate in Graphic Communications. I'm certified for pretty much any job in that field like printing, proofing, advertisement, layout compositions and stuff. It's just there isn't shit here. And I'm not willing to go from 14$ an hour back to 7.50 stocking shit at Target.
