I'd think either A: the trailer might be empty so its just a shell... not much weight.

B: firewall is straight and undamaged... so the structural integrity is fine

I will agree with the empty trailer but not the firewall at all. The strongest part of that car that is in contact with the trailer is actually the pan which the trailer looks like it is resting on.

Look at this pic here:



You will note the pan side is virtually unmoved and on the top side of the car the trailer is riding down the sheetmetal like it was a tin can.

Zoom on tin side:


You will also note the older lady who is being helped, no doubt she was the driver of the car.
