I've gone out and bought a spray for indoor/outdoors, one of those large containers with an external line and spray nozzle and it seems to get rid of them for a day or so but they just find another way of getting in.

Lately, since all foods and everything are put away and any open bags of snacks are sealed behind large zip lock bags...they've been after Chops' dog food. He's pretty messy when he eats sometimes and I found that a couple pieces would roll out into my pantry. So I would open the pantry to see a huge ball of these fuckers all over the dog food.

A friend at work told me about a product called Terro that is supposed to do wonders. So I'm off to Ace Hardware in a few to grab some. Apparently, any existing ants will be attracted to it and take it back to their colony where they will all die in hell! muhahahhahahahahhahahahh!
ant's are looking for water right now! cause it's hot

go to your local home depot or lowes and pick up some "diazinon substitute"
diazinon is iilegal...
go to the grass and dirt area around your house.. spead it around those areas. then go around the foundation of the house with any srpay killer that leaves a residual

that will solve your problem guaranteed

also keep your dogs or cat out of the area til the diazinon drys

These ants are hustlers too, you can't hustle a huster; Rule #72. h:

I am, I placed 2 gel traps one in the pantry that has a door, and another in the corner behind his cage.

You don't want to do something like that to these ants. It will only cause them to split up and form subcolonies. Read about them in my response below.

No, these are Odorous Ants as far as I know. They are also known as "Sweet Ants", and give off a smell of rotten co**** if you squish one. http://www.pantrypest.com/odorous-ants.htm

I had that same problem in my last apt. Ants would be everywhere..

I went out and bought boric acid...i laid it all around the lining of my walls and all ants disappeared...

What it does is when ants go out scouting and they find something...they usually tend to leave a scent trail...what the boric acid does is kills the scent trail and also kills the ants in the process....i poured that stuff around my baseboards where i noticed the ants coming from and voila....no mo ants in my pants

we have the "sweet ants"...they search for food and more importantly they are drawn to moisture...since they are so small in size it is impossible for the house to be sealed off to prevent their entrance...they are also known to relocate thier lairs into the walls of the house

what i've done to stop them is to get 2 types of ant traps:

1. Terro ant traps...get both indoor and outdoor (active ingredient is Borax)...the out door traps are the best b/c they not only bait them but they keep them outside of the house...it also has a lot more poison in it (keep out of reach of cats/dogs)...it is the green thing in this picture

there is a 2nd type of trap is a small plastic trap where you cut at small hole where they can enter...put this where you know they may enter the house

2. a second trap i found is Grants...these are little bait traps on a stake you stick in the ground...put this around your house every 5-10 feet or known entrance points

by keeping them out of the house you are preventing infestations

I have a serious ant problem too. I see at least 5 or 6 of those big black ones a day running around on my carpet. I just got tired of killing them and throwing them away so now I just squash them and let other ants carry them back to the colony.
