i've recently heard that the italian guy called Zidane a "Son of a terrorist whore" (Zidane's parents are from Algeria). if that's true the italian deserved more than a headbutt to the chest.

"I did insult him, it's true," Materazzi said in Tuesday's Gazzetta dello Sport. "But I categorically did not call him a terrorist. I'm not cultured and I don't even know what an Islamic terrorist is."
uhh.. :eh: wtf?

This site compiled a list of statistics on unsportsman like conduct during the world cup. Paraguay, Italy, Portugal, Ivory Coast, and Holland were the dirtiest. Trinidad, Brazil, Costa Rica, Sweden, and the US were the least dirty. France was ~15th most dirty. France, incidentally, threw the most tantrums, but Italy had the most dives and fake injuries. So, there's plenty of dirt to go around.

Unfortunately, clean playing teams are eliminated quickly because they are clean.
thats a great chart!! i wonder if they have a similar chart for pass world cup. Brazil has a long history of being a "clean" team and they won a lot of world cup. I beleive the refs are letting too much shit go...

And yeah i heard that too about the terroris whore thing... that is just plain wrong. in certain ligues in europe when black player go on the pitch and play some of the "white" fan throw banana's at them. kinda like reminding them they are from africa. fucking bullshit!

"He looked me up and down, arrogantly and said: 'If you really want my shirt, I'll give it to you afterwards."'

one thing about that chart.. if it weren't for that russian ref who lost control, the netherlands and portugal wouldn't be so near the top for yellows. i think after that incident, the refs were told to calm down.

i mean, before that match, refs were easily handing out cards. after, they were few and far between.

i didn't, but he's right. it needs to end. funny that he admits to doing it himself though.

hell, i was getting irritated at cristiano ronaldo doing it. a bunch of them do, obviously as shown above. it's frustrating. use your playing skills, dammit, not your acting skills.. :madr:
