Tomorrow at this time my Mom will be...
...the proud owner of two brand new, state of the art ceramic hips. The surgery will last about 4 to 5 hours and she will be in the hospital for 10-12 days. She has been wanting this surgery for about 10 years, and needed it for longer. It's good she has waited so long because the technology of hip replacement surgery has improved greatly with the introduction of ceramic ball and cup hips. These are far greater than the prev used stainless and plastic which have an average life of 25-35 years but ceramic are said to last possibly 70-100 years. Im a bit nervous but more excited that she is getting it done. Basicly she has not been able to stand up out of a chair without help for the last 5 years and now she will likely be able to do things that she hasn't been able to do for the last 20 years.

Oh wow. I know all will go well.
My friend had this done back in December, the road to recovery was long ... but he's in absolutely no pain or discomfort doing normal things now.
