Yeh, i proposed to her when i went there in April... then i went back last month to organize the paperwork for the fiancee visa since the US embassy in Japan is infinitely more friendly and efficient than processing the same papers here. i'm actually going again next month since i have some free time, and the wedding will be a full on shinto style ceremony in october in fukuoka.

yea, that was at the july 4th independence day parade in dc w/ the redskin cheerleaders. Im goin to see if i can do that again this year.

 

I live with my broad, but she goes away for weeks at a time for medical treatments and whatnot. I have seen long-distance relationships work (my best friend moved to sweden for about 6 months and kept his gf), but in most cases, I would try and wrap things up before we separated.

Shinto's one of the 2 major religions in Japan (most people follow both Shinto and Buddhist practices). Anyway, a Shinto wedding ceremony is pretty much like a Christian wedding, except it's at a temple instead of a church, and everyone's wearing kimonos and speaking Japanese =p Luckily her parents are paying for most of the wedding... my fiancee is wearing 3 different kimono's throughout the ceremony/reception, each costs ~$3000 to RENT!
