Hate to see your electric bill, even when I lived in SC we didn't set the A/C below 76 in the summer. We also had it on a programmable T-stat to come on 1/2 hour before we got home, had it set for 85 while we were out. My electric bills were so low that when I talked to a rep from Duke Power at work he joked about sending someone out to reset my meter.

actually our electric bill isnt that bad considering our a/c is on just about 24/7. we just upgraded to a brand new heating and cooling system so i think its one of the most efficent models out there. but from what i know it can be just as much at times with the a/c off as if it was on because it still needs to cycle. or at least ive been told this. granted i think this is only in certain circumstances.

but the extra money is worth the cold factor for me...it means i can sleep at night
