What about the all important mooch off his parents? And also, why is he broke, does he have a job? Has he tried to get a job? There are a few factors that could use answering too...

"Hey ma...do you have like $100 I can bum?"

Assuming they actually are friends, and not just some aquiantance that he buys things from every now and then, it's definetely his problem. I care about my friends, so when one of them has a problem, it's my problem too. I don't know the situation and maybe he is using the term "friend" loosely, but if any of the people I call friends had a problem, I would be there in a heartbeat if I could.

Friends are there to help you when other people won't. Not abandon you when you need help the most. You guys need to learn how to be a good person. Or just keep acting like dicks and make people like me look that much better.
You need to pay attention. He WAS helping the guy out. The guy needed money and Nightshade bought a truck from him, giving him the cash he had on hand and agreeing to pay the rest next week when he has it.

You don't seem to have a grasp on the situation. If the guy is in financial trouble, he needs to change his thinking about $ and do things differently. Enabling friends does not help them...and you certainly don't "look better than us dicks" by adding words in peoples content. You have only shed light on your own ignorance.

So if you were in this situation...if you had purchased something from a friend and arranged to pay a portion up front and a portion later...and your friend got "robbed"....and you DID NOT HAVE THE REST OF THE MONEY at the time, what would you do? Give him your TV or something and let him pawn it for crack?

Whoah, whoah, I know i don't totally understand the situation, I'm just saying the way it looks. Also, I didn't adds words to anyone's quote. The quote was just a scenario to explain the way things looked.

Of course not! The guy never said whether he had the money to help his friend out. He made it sound like the only reason he didn't pay the rest of it was because he didn't want to.

The deal was simple enough, I pay him $300 now and give him the rest in a week or two as money frees up for me.
So he tries to guilt trip me into giving him some more cash but I just tell him there is no way I can do that at this point in time.
Looks pretty cut and dry to me.

ahhh, ok. I only saw the second one and I took it as him making stuff up because he didn't want to pay him. That explains why everyone was getting pissed....lol

Actually I have the money, but it is spoken for on a previous deal I had already struck on some tires. That money is being spent today in fact. I have my money pretty closely budgeted for this project and he knows this. I struck a deal and I am holding to the terms of the deal specifically.

For those who asked...no he doesn't "believe in banks"...yeah I told him not to be a dipshit and get a bank account. He also doesn't have a job,nor any plans to get one. His gf works and she is really nice but he is not so much that way. Overall he is a nice guy and we get along well and hang out, but I have been questioning whether or not I want him in my life as a friend anymore... but my not giving him the remainder of the money has nothing to do with that at all.
