You all are amateurs... you haven't lived until you have eaten the football sized sub they serve at Gandolf and Grovers in Sonora CA.

Hi all, I am new to this site and found this topic. I currently have a friend that is a Quiznos owner (wanting out bad) and found this thread interesting. I read thru over 15 pages of post. A couple of things to let you folks understand why some owners dont take coupons.
1) Quiznos does not reimburse the owners what so ever for their corporate coupons (which the franchisees have no say in what is printed on these coupons)
2) Prime rib is the most expensive sandwich to serve, that is why owners dont accept them on bogo's. Pretty much it is about a 45% food cost (not including labor, paper, royalties, advertising fees, rent, loan, electricity..etc..etc) So if someone gave me a bogo for 2 large prime rib subs (9.00 food cost, customer pays 10.00) Not including my laborer and paper cost for that product, franchisee lose money. Corporate says, well that is to get people in your door.
3) Some owners take away the pepper bar stuff (which he doesn't at his store), because the cost of people hording the product. Which cost almost .30 for a cup of peppers in a suffle cup.
4) Napkins - 2 napkins usually per sub, unless its a meatball he will give at least 4..
5) Store owners get upset because the food cost is increasing, but the profit margin is decreasing.
6) The latest thing quiznos wants him to do is to pass out free metal forks with the new salads coming out. They will provide the forks for them the first round, but expect him(franchisees to pay for them the 2nd round) He told me that he will totally refuse to spend money on metal forks to give out due to some stupid ass marketing strategy.
