HH, if you train a little bit a 25-50 mile ride at 15 mph or so is really easy, and friggin awesome exercise. Given that you made it the 12 at I'm guessing around 10 mph, if you rode twice a week for two months you could be pulling 50 milers without feeling like hell the next day.
Get a good seat and some appropriate clothing and it's not bad at all.
We have one of those in GA. I was going to ride 10 miles a couple weeks ago, but I realized my crappy walmart bike/seat weren't going to cut it. My ass hurt at the 5 mile mark
My parents did 900 miles over a five day period last summer. I'm not sure how they can manage that in their late fifties. I can manage maybe 20, but my Asthma kicks in after the first one, making it painful.
I need to ride my bike more, but I just dont have the time. I used to ride a lot as a kid, but I am trying to stay away from testicular cancer at this point.
