Get a good seat and some appropriate clothing and it's not bad at all.

We have one of those in GA. I was going to ride 10 miles a couple weeks ago, but I realized my crappy walmart bike/seat weren't going to cut it. My ass hurt at the 5 mile mark

My parents did 900 miles over a five day period last summer. I'm not sure how they can manage that in their late fifties. I can manage maybe 20, but my Asthma kicks in after the first one, making it painful.

I need to ride my bike more, but I just dont have the time. I used to ride a lot as a kid, but I am trying to stay away from testicular cancer at this point.
