Default Dual Layer DVD burner

Office Depot was having a sale on an external Dual Layor DVD burner for 39.99 instead of 89.99, so I decided to hit it up, since I've been looking for one for a while now. Its an LG, and I hope it works well. I went to Circuit City for some DVDs(+R, 50 for 8.99) and found out that you need to get dual layor dvds. Does anyone know of a cheap place for them? I don't want to spend 17.99 for 3 of them, better than the Blu-Ray blank disc for 25. Theres no burner out yet for it even.

I'm going to keep an eye out for some dual layor discs and hope I can score some for cheap.

you can still burn regular dvdrs you just won't get the capacity. I haven't seen a good deal on dl discs yet. They're still a dollar or more.

Hmm. Ok, I might have to just get a couple then. Now I know not to waste time and energy looking.

Sams has some Verbatim for $2/DVD+R DL - 30 for 60$. That's the common cheap price.

Oh btw, when you burn them, make sure you set your burner to DVD+ROM booktype (using decrypter or imgBurn or Nero DVD/CD Speed). That way, it'll be more compatible with old DVD players.

DVD Shrink, Nero, DVD Decrypter, AnyDVD

Mostly I just use DVD Shrink + Nero. Rarely ever need anything other than that, quick, simple and reliable.

Ok I tried putting my avis onto a dvd using Nero SVCD and it didn't like that I had a dvd in it.

So right now I'm going to try Janis stuff and see how it works out.

Edit: I tried downloading TMPGEnc but its really confusing. I'm trying to put a bunch of tv shows onto a dvd for my parents. Its in .avi so I think I need to convert it.
