Default PC hardware guys....please read....Wireless NIC question

Hi there,

I am looking to get a new wireless NIC for my PC since I can't use a standard wired connection any more  . I simply hate wireless networking and refused to use it in the past, but in this case I don't really have a choice.

Anyhow, it's been a while since I actually worked with a wireless PCI NIC and with all the choices out there I am somewhat clueless to the actual performance of the item vs. the marketing crap they have on the boxes. So yeah, I know we have some wizs on HAN....so let me know what you would recommend.

A/B/G preferred, but I can go with B/G.

I was looking at this card below....

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16833124178

P.S. I forgot to mention I am not considering a USB adapter either.....sorry....I've been working with computers for years and I am set in my ways....something about USB wireless adapters that I don't like

if you're pushing files across a network all day, then you'll see some issues between wireless and wired.

As far as basic use (downloading, network file sharing, etc) ... these G cards are very good. You won't even see a difference. On my Motorola G, I can still hit download speeds of 700mb, compared to a wired of 740ish.

try to avoid SRX and other variations since they only benefit from mated srx routers and shit.

For internet downloading.... youll be fine with a standard G router.

Well, I already have a Belkins router that supports A/B/G with pretty good range....it's just the USB wireless adapter I have sucks. I never thought about the mating stance until I read your post and checked on a few reviews about the card.

I'll just pick up some standard G card then.

FYI: It's mostly for browsing the internet and gaming....not transferring shit through the network.

OK. I guess I'll stick with the basic stuff. Man, I hate wireless for this very reason.
