SRV would always say he wasn't anything compared to hendrix, and that he was essentially doing the same thing. maybe he was being a tad modest, but in a way i agree. SRV also drew from a lot of other influences, like albert king.

i think jimi was definately more revolutionary, but i also think he was much better in terms of pure musical talent. his music was more soulful. SRV wins in technique/technical skill.. he also played the thickest strings and fattest frets he could find - not easy. but jimi hendrix's music gets to me so much more.
