What say ye with regard to this particular Porsche?

OK, lets get realistic here. Its a damn nice 44... probably one of the best out there. If you don't like that particular model, so be it... but why all the fawking hate? With the exception of a few individuals on this board (Captain moneypants), its a shitload nicer than our cars, so stop hating and give respect where its due.

Remember its a 20yr old car!! I can only imagine how it handles as well. One of the 10 best handling cars ever built by most historic accounts. Hes sort of a cult guy on Rennlist.

Is it worth $85,000? Who knows. It would take a lot of time and money to build a car like that. Most people would prefer a couple hundred fewer ponies and a warranty for that price. All it takes is one motivated buyer though.

By the way my 944T is the most reliable car Ive ever owned. Even more so than my bulletproof 92 Integra GSR. They are built like tanks. If you treat them right they will treat you right. If you cut corners, you are asking for it then. A Porsche hose is going to cost more than a Honda hose. Thats just the nature of it.

Slow down, drive safely.
i'm a former 944 owner and a Honda in general is much more reliable than a Porsche...what really got me was every 30k miles you have to get the timing belt done when honda's required it every 60k but you could easily go over that estimate...even with honda's you didn't require a retensioning after 1000k miles like on a porsche

facts are: a porsche isn't built to compete with honda as its performance is much greater (outside of the s2000 or nsx)...but porsches aren't as reliable or easy/cheap to maintain as a honda and your bank account can verify that

that aside i loved my 944 track car as it was a blast to drive...i had to sell it only b/c of a relo this summer and my car is currently for sale from the director of the 944 cup www.44cup.com

I do give respect where it is due. It is a well built car it seems. However to say that it can beat on all these cars is a little far fetched. I don't think its nicer than cars on this board. I would honestly take someone's turbo integra over this 944 as personal preference.

Josh maybe you should hold off on the smack-talking until your car is all properly sorted out from the hack-job performed by that certain shop...

Ya, "made" being the key word there, neither one of em lists em on their websites any more.

My car will be done, and I'm not in Vegas. I know people in Vegas, this troll claims this car can seemingly dominate anything down there.

Garth is from Vegas and I have other cool vids of him but due to the rules on this board about street racing vids which I will respect I can not post them...............lets just say though he is taking down a bit more impressive things than a 500rwhp 944

Ok, so this dude who came on here ain't even the guy who owns the car. All we know is that some random dude on the internet who signed up here on h-a just to make one particular post, happens to think the guy who owns this 944 mops the floor with everyone in Vegas. Who knows what the guy who owns it ACTUALLY think of himself?

I dont speak for the guy on Rennlist who owns the car. Just going from random threads over the years Ive read. Take it up with him if you want to get into a pissing contest. Personally I think anybody who street races is a wanker. I dont care it they are driving a Zonda or a shitbox Chevy.

Never said Porsche is more reliable than Honda. Jesus H, Ive owned a Honda for criminy. Had an Integra. However given the cars I owned, my 944T is the most reliable car Ive ever owned. Put 150 glorious miles on it this weekend in 90 degree heat and it ran like a top. Most Porsches are pretty reliable. What happens is the parts are more expensive and people cut corners and decide not to do the routine maintenance. The car gets neglected, runs worse, breaks down more, and it gets blamed on an unreliable car, when in fact, its just lived under a history of neglectful owners. The service intervals for most Porsches are not crazy. But you are gonna pay more for parts and labor. Sometimes a lot more. And for those who find that a problem, they should own something else. Problem is, that usually doesnt happen and they jump in thinking a new water pump is gonna cost $4.99 and be stocked at Pep Boys.

Would I put that much dough into a 944? Unlikely. Id probably just buy a 993TT. Id rather have an NSX than a Civic with $25,000 in upgrades in it too.

Is that supposed to be a big thing :eh: I put 900 on my V6 Accord with 220k miles and I got back okay.

My daily commute for 6 months was almost 150 miles
