Remember its a 20yr old car!! I can only imagine how it handles as well. One of the 10 best handling cars ever built by most historic accounts. Hes sort of a cult guy on Rennlist.
Is it worth $85,000? Who knows. It would take a lot of time and money to build a car like that. Most people would prefer a couple hundred fewer ponies and a warranty for that price. All it takes is one motivated buyer though.
By the way my 944T is the most reliable car Ive ever owned. Even more so than my bulletproof 92 Integra GSR. They are built like tanks. If you treat them right they will treat you right. If you cut corners, you are asking for it then. A Porsche hose is going to cost more than a Honda hose. Thats just the nature of it.
Slow down, drive safely.
i'm a former 944 owner and a Honda in general is much more reliable than a Porsche...what really got me was every 30k miles you have to get the timing belt done when honda's required it every 60k but you could easily go over that estimate...even with honda's you didn't require a retensioning after 1000k miles like on a porsche
facts are: a porsche isn't built to compete with honda as its performance is much greater (outside of the s2000 or nsx)...but porsches aren't as reliable or easy/cheap to maintain as a honda and your bank account can verify that
that aside i loved my 944 track car as it was a blast to drive...i had to sell it only b/c of a relo this summer and my car is currently for sale from the director of the 944 cup
