...been on a train ride for more than 10 hrs? Comfortability issues? I will be taking one while in China. I have never been on a passenger train.

 

I'm going to be on a plane for like 15 hours in about a month...not excited.

yes...it sucks and is far too expensive for the amount of time it takes to get where you are going.

Fly whenever possible, think of a train as an over glorified Greyhound bus trip...but slower.

 

I'll feel your pain at the end of the year/early jan. Flying to Brazil.

I got on a Subway once in Athens...for some reason, I was scared. h:

 

I took a 13 hr to Ireland a couple years ago. We fly from our local, major airport to Chicago. We then "hop" from Chicago to Beijing (14hrs and some change). From Beijing to Yichang, we take taxi. Finally from Yichang to Yidu, we take the train ride. I believe I got the order correct, this is how my dad explained it to me earlier. It is the easiest way to get the Yidu where my sister lives.

 

That is pretty intense. What does your sister do there? Are you Chinese?

my flight from Charlotte- Germany last year with US Airways was fantastic. Those 9 hours or so went by like nothing. The flight from Germany-Athens was shorter and way worse. Then trying to find out how to get to the bus station in Athens was a bitch...I was so tired I left my bookbag on the Airport Express bus (bye bye Digital Camera ).
