I had 2 one on each side. Was taking creatine at the time which I will never do again! had to have 2 surgeries. It feels like crap and trust me you don't want to get it ever! Right now I have minor pain on my right lower back side. I am going to get xray friday but I have a feeling its stones. Once you get stones chances of you getting them again are like 70%

 

^that is true! so sorry. they are horribly painful! try and push some fluids. hope u get to feeling better soon!

 

Friend of mine just had some, they can use something like an ultra sound that basically vibrates them into dust and are then passed easier. But, from what he said, they still have to go in to get the sound device right next to the stones.

That and they only do that if they are a certian size and really bad, so bad that they pretty much can't be pushed through.

 

Damn that creatine. Gritty-kitty bullshit.

You gotta drink plenty of water...you get kidney stones if you don't drink water.....when you take creatine you need extra water as well...so you weren't getting enough hydration.

 

I've passed 3 in my life, but when I got checked I had something like 6 in my right kidney...so my future isn't looking so hot.

For those asking about the pain. It is the worst pain on the planet. It slowly seeps in. kind of warm and pinched at first and then the real pain sets in. It feels like someone is taking a dull steak knife to your kidney and passage to the bladder. The pain comes in waves while the stone is ripping apart your inside. You can feel the pain and heat moving along with the stone as it travels to your bladder. Now it can get REALLY bad if the stone attaches itself to your bladder (knock on wood haven't had that yet). It bangs around all inside. The other worst thing is that you have to piss like ALL the time...but you don't piss...its like dry heaving but urinating instead. After a few hours of pain you may luckily pass the stone which are small considering the amount of pain you go through.

It's been 2 years for me as well and last time I was at my best friends and the dad just sat there and was like...is there anything I can do? Unfortunately there isn't anything you can really do unless it is a larger more severe one which then you go to the hospital and get a morophine drip. (my boss got that).

I feel your pain man...every now and again my kidney with act up and I am like...well today is gonna suck.
