Do you use your parking brake when you park?

When i drive my girlfriend's car and its only common sense to put it on, i know in my civic (manual) if i let the parking brake off, even as small as a gust will move it. I'd rather not risk it. h:

On some cars, using the parking brake keeps the rear drums (cylinders) adjusted.

When it's not used often enough, the line has to be manually adjusted.

the Park position on automatics isn't meant to be a replacement for the parking brake. if you never use the parking brake (and always just put it in Park), it's puts unnecessary stress on the transmission, and the Park feature can eventually fail. especially if you park on non-level ground. most owners manuals will tell you to always use the parking brake, but most people i know that drive auto don't care.

you should get it looked at, and then start using the parking brake.
