I had to go pick a friend up from school. I forgot my cell phone and was going to go back and get it but I knew I would've been late. So I get there and this school is massive. There was busses, students, and cars everywhere. I had no clue where to go so I took the main road up to the school. But to do so I had to drive by a line of buses. So As I get up to the buses they all start slamming their horns and the next thing I know a cop runs up to my moving car and he's yelling at me to pull over. So I do and he has a typical cop attitude. So I give him the license and registration and he says "You know it's a 450$ fine for passing a bus with it's lights out? You passed 5 or 6 of them." and I said "I've never been here before I'm lost." So then he starts writing a ticket for like 2500$ then gets rid of it and writes me a seatbelt violation eventhough I had it on, I took it off so I could reach my glove box to give him my information. So I asked him where I should have parked and he said go around the stonewall behind so-and-so building near so-and-so place. So I told him I have no clue where that is I've never been here. Then I got more of a verbal ass whooping from him. Then I go home and there's a text on my phone saying nevermind I got a ride....

Anyway, I'm going to go ahead and say he was a fucking dick head and should have just directed me where I had to go. But I know pretty much everyone is gonna give me the ol' It's your own fault you deserve the 2500$ ticket, blah, blah.

Pretty much. I mean, this was a total cluster fuck. I was too busy making sure I didn't hit anything or anyone. The school didn't get out for another 10 minutes and the buses were just parked on the side of the road. There was pretty much nowhere else for me to go.

that sucks. i just found out yesterday too that you can get a ticket for "passing a stopped school bus"... i had no clue either h: and i drive by a highschool with buses on the side all the time h:

passing a bus with it's lights off? WTF? If it's lights are off then it's parked. Never heard of that one.

 

Yea I dont get the lights off thing. I know if they have their red lights blinking and have that little stop sign sticking out, then yea, you should wait because it means kids are getting off and those fuckers might dart out into the street to cross it.

But it has nothing to do with the lights being out :dunno:
