I'm downloading on lime wire and my computer is acting slow. It only downloads at about 76kb/s and it used to be at about 250kb/s average about a two weeks ago. How do I fix this problem? Its been like this for a few days now.

Did you go into your settings and knock the upload speed down so that your bandwith doesn't get rapped? You may have people downloading from you and hogging all your bandwith. OR.. you're just downloading from slow servers.

my brother and my dad use the computer most of the time.
were do I go to see if they changed anything?
I'm not very good with fixing computers and shit.

 

Click on tools then options. Click the + on uploads and you see "basic" and "slots" Click on basic and make sure that slider is no where NEAR 100%. Make it go to like 12kps. Then click on slots and change the numbers to 1 and 1. Click apply and ok. I'd restart after that. Also, make sure your shared folder isn't chalk full of stuff. People uploading will suck up all the bandwith on your machine. If it doesn't work, we can try something else.

 

I did what you said but now its even slower than before. Now its half the speed.

 

shit I'm so stupid I deleted my whole entire shared folder and it ended up deleting all of my songs and videos.

 

go ahead and reformat it then.......

 

WTF.. did you empty the recycle bin? Something else is going on on your machine. If anything, my suggestions would NOT have SLOWED down your machine.
