I've thought about the Element to use as a handi-man type vehicle but its size is just too small for me, and I'm not going back into that type of work anymore.

i agree. and if this summer was going to be like last summer (renovating a kitchen, 2 baths, etc) there is now way id entertain the thought of unloading the Ram. but for what we have left, an element will serve its purpose.
we looked at 2 this afternoon, the silver one and the orange on. both were 17,900, both we '03s, one was CPO, one was not, the CPO had 47k the not CPO had 44k. both EX AWD. truth be told, the Orange one (non CPO, 44k) was in nicer shape and seemed to be a nicer car, plus we prefer the dealership....
we found one a little further from home with 39k for 16,995 and that is one that we want to consider but we will have to find a saturday we can drive the hour and a half to get to it. perhaps we will stumble across one tomorrow while we're house shopping in syracuse.
