That's a smart idea. The place you buy it from may give you a break on the repair, since you'd be comin' out the pocket for the mkII

All 10 of my batteries are freshly charged and I have tried that as well.

I have a d60 on my shelf with a fried mainboard...those things were ok but turned into bricks way too easily.
