Or vtec solenoid. Or maybe he's just low on oil. Or maybe he has a shorted/loose wire somewhere.

That motor has so many switches and sensors...you could spend all day figuring it out.

when i bought the motor, i told them to do a compression check..it was around 200 psi with alittle oil in the cylinder..but i still need to do a leakdown test...it might be a leaking head gasket because it seem to leak oil right where the head sit in the block..but now it doesn't leak anymore...i have enough oil and a new distributor, rotor, cap, and spark plugs...the engine gets really hot but doesn't over heat...now the idle lopes between 1k to 2k..i know that it might be the iacv or air in the coolant..

when the car is cold and try to start it, it will be hard to start but give it alittle gas and i'll hear alittle thump coming out of the intake..

This is probably not it, but i've heard people that had skunk 2 manifolds, to have this sort of problem... not sure though if this is IT or not

If there is any kind of vacuum leak from where the TB meets the manifold, or the manifold meets the head...the idle will jump.

there might be a leak on the manifold to the head but i'm not to worry about the idle now..i'm just worry about the power..it's running rough not smooth..

ECT sensor is in the head, on the passenger side.
