Default Computer Peeps: Media Server

So in this thread I was talking about how my mom managed to mess up my old computer. I borrowed a monitor and played around with it this weekend and it turns out it was the HD. So, I put my 250 gig backup drive in, partitioned it to 20 gigs for XP and the rest for files then turned it into a media PC. I have it all setup in my family room but have one issue. I want to password protect it but not sure how that will work if I need to reboot it. There is no monitor and i use remote desktop to control it. Can I remote desktop into the PC if no user has logged on yet? All help is appreciated

TightVNC can login without having a user logged in. I admin my mom's pc that way. Just make sure to set it to start as a service.

So I installed it on both computers (via logmein) and I have one big issue. I cannot connect to the media server from my laptop, but if I run the viewer in listen mode on my laptop, I can open a connection from the media server (find client). Any ideas?

Sounds like the server/service isn't running on the media server.
