Ehh...that is the most basic of descriptions ever given.

There is a shitload more to it than that especially on vehicles shrouded in plastic and with every convenience known to man installed on it.

meh, an engine is an engine. Not much different from each. Sensors are easy to remove h:

the plastic is only on the outside also. Once you remove that it looks like any other I or V6.

you are right to an extent but the amount of teardown is different on each vehicle. I know on my V6 in the blazer I have to do the following:

Remove plenum
Remove AC pump and condensor
Remove multiple wires and sensors
Plugs and wires (duh)
seperate engine and tranny
remove motor mounts and pull engine forward approximatley 6 inches
May as well remove it at this point to make it easier so I have to pull radiator and fan assembly as well
then remove head bolts and get to the gasket

oh yeah don't forget to move everything to TDC before you start pulling it apart and mark the timing assembly so you don't fuck up during reassembly.

Then repeat the process in reverse.

there is more but this is the Cliffs note version as best I can remember.

:slap:

have you looked at an I6 before?

have you looked at a BMW front end length?

Have you seen an I6 in a BMW?

Have you noticed the I6 tucks into the firewall a bit?

How do you reach the rear head bolts without a similiar process having to be undertaken?

On a Honda it is fairly straightforward and what I would call simple, but many manufacturers (BMW included) cram the motor into as small a space as possible. this is where knowing many brands of vehicles and understand various companies design tendencies can make you hear about a project and you simply shake your head and say, "I aint helping with that shit for all the beer in the keg".

And an E46 M3 just for confirmation of how the engine sits in the car.

That's not a sway bar, that's a strut tower bar.
