On a Honda it is fairly straightforward and what I would call simple, but many manufacturers (BMW included) cram the motor into as small a space as possible. this is where knowing many brands of vehicles and understand various companies design tendencies can make you hear about a project and you simply shake your head and say, "I aint helping with that shit for all the beer in the keg".
