The "radio and censorship" thread got me thinking....How many of you think that MTV has passed its prime?...whenever i get a chance to watch it there is no "Music Television"...Its always the damn Real World/Road Rules/Inferno....The only show i like is 8th and Ocean because Britt is smokin hawt. That is all

Cliffs: Has MTV passed its prime?

MTV has passed it's prime for showing music videos. They cater to a different audience now.

Personally I think they've always sucked regardless.

Well i remember when i was like 12 or 13 and would visit my grandparents house...MTV would always play music videos back to back...and it was a good lineup...Now its always Road Rules or Realworld non stop.....The same shit happens every damn season everyone gets in a fight and its actually very uneventful....Then they come out with Inferno...Its totally stupid.

MTV2 was created for viewers who wanted nonstop music videos..... pretty soon mtv2 was showing non-video shit

then they created MTV Hits... which is currently still showing only music videos

Which doesn't even come in for the majority of people - I only get MTv & MTV2 on my 160+ channel Dish Network setup. I watch Viva La Bam, Wildboyz, & Jackass reruns on MTV... and Fuse or Vh1 if I actually want to watch music videos.

I think MTV passed it's prime in like 1995.
