Default Wireless Phone Peeps...Question

I need a new phone, but I also want to switch to Cingular from T-Mobile, because the service is better in my area. The problem is, my billing cycle just started over. If I were to switch to Cingular now, would T-Mobile prorate my billing cycle instead of charging me the full amount?

Thanks in advance.

When I switched from Tmobile to Cingular this summer, Tmobile prorated how much I owed based on how far into my cycle I was. They did it when I initially called to cancel.

I would just be switching services, and taking my number with me to Cingular...so I wouldn't be calling Tmobile to cancel, since Cingular takes care of that...hmm.

I should probably switch to a local number, but it's such a pain to tell everyone the new number.

Well I opened a new plan with Cingular and was given a new number, but then I ported my old number from Tmobile to my new plan with Cingular and ditched the new one that cingular had given me...but I've never heard of a provider cancelling your old service for you. But hey if they do that now then you should be good. I'd rather do it on my own so I know whats going on and I know how much I owe at the time of cancellation.

When I switched from ATT to Tmobile and brought my number over, they automatically cancelled my ATT.

After your edit: What do you mean "ported your number" over to Cingular?

they are supposed to prorate it. there was actually a class action lawsuit against AT&T for not prorating all thier clients accounts when they cancelled
