alright so im installing a dvd burner into the 2nd bay on my tower....the ribbon connector thing is in and also the power.....so i go to restart my computer and nothing happens it just sits there with a black screen and a white "_" blinking so i go to the boot menu and some pm 29384923 thing comes up and then my dvd drive if i go to the pm thing it boots up correctly and it recognizes the new hardware but if i go to the dvd one it just goes back to the blinking light.....anyway so when im at the desktop i put in a dvd to see if it works it says error i/o somethin.....what is goin on here?...is there somethin up with the whole slave master thingy or what?

is your IDE cable in upside down?

 

Did you config the jumpers on both of your drives to be: one is Master and the other 1 is slave. This is on the back of you drives. Having TWO masters will cause the conflict in the IO Resource.

how do I do that?.....and also im pretty sure if you are talking about the ribbon cable (IDE right?) is in right b/c the way its set up I couldnt really turn it the other way b/c my cd-rom is on top......
