what do you guys think
i been dwelling on this thought for a while now. ok so i want to get rid of my 04 accord and get an '89 240. and no not because fast and furious is coming out, but because i hang around drifters. if i bought one i wouldnt drift but i just like that car. ok, now the major reason why i want to do it is cuz i live at home with moms and little sisters and shit is not cool. and my car payment is 450$ a month and 250$ for insurance. now i dont want to be paying this for 4 or 5 more years. so i want to get rid of it and buy an older car so i can move into my own place. shit is ridiculous cuz last night some chick wanted to have sex and i couldnt cuz i cant have girls sleep over at my house and im freakin 24 years old.
well what do you guys think? should i do it?

I would, however, at least look at the S14.. for the sake of the motor and fewer miles on average.
Most of the S13s are going to be pretty tired, as they are all 10-15 years old at this point. Also, the SOHC KA24E is anything but vigorous. h:

If you want something cheap, light and RWD without the headaches associated with buying an old tired-out 15 year old car with 200,000 miles on it, I have a recommendation for you: go Miata shopping.
Because the Miata has sort of a girly and/or gay car image, it hasn't caught on with the maaad tyte jay dee em dor1ft0 fanboys as much as the AE86, FC or S13/S14. There's a huge aftermarket for it...suspension, brakes, forced induction, etc. As for drifting, there's this dude who posts on miata.net rather frequently and he seems to be alright.
So many people buy Miatas as their second or third vehicle and keep them in a garage most of the time. I bought my '99 Miata in the summer of 2004 and it had 35k miles on it. You can find plenty of Miatas older than that which have been parked in people's multi-car garages and driven maybe 2-3k miles a year. Here are some examples around you:

That, and add old men having their midlife crisis to the mix.
But there's a growing contingent of teen and twentysomething Miata owners who used to drive Hondas or other tuner cars.
