Default Geek Squad: Ram Discussion

Was looking into getting 2gb of ram does anyone know what the timings mean and if there is a real difference in performance ram and standard ram? I'm not planning to overclock them or anything.

the bottle neck is the Hard drive. Memory speed is always increasing, but harddrives dont keep up. look for a 10k RPM, and a faster motherboard to handle it
