The funny thing is that piss tests are innacurate to begin with and why employers rely on them confuses me.

Example of how innaccurate they are:

I used to smoke, and when I say smoke I mean a lot of weed. So I had to take a private piss test for reasons I will not go into but it was out of pocket ($60). I averaged a half ounce +/- a week for well over 3 years (yes I still got a lot done and managed a business). So I went in expecting to fail on the weed but hadn't smoked in 3 days.

I passed across the board with a 0 THC in my system and I asked them if this was correct and explained to them the reason I doubted their test...I think my exact words were, "YOu should be able to drink my piss and be stoned for 3 days from it". I was asked how long since I had smoked and how much I smoked on a regular basis, I told them and they said that it sounded about right to run through my system and clear in that timeframe.

Yeah right, that is complete bullshit since a buddy of mine went in stoned and passed the test with a zero THC level as well.

 

Placebo affect.

 

Drug screeners will give some leeway with concentration in blood stream. I mean, they'll know if you smoke it basically.

 

I pass every test I have to take with flying colors. Assay(piss tests) are the most inacurate test in the world as Nightshade said. If you drink a lot of fluid they check for dilution, that can be manipulated with about 6 tums, it adds minerals and gravity to the urine. If that fails they check for color, that can be manipulated with 1/2 of a vitamin B12. I accidently took a whole one before and I pissed neon green. And then last but not least the acylic(sp) acid in asparin pretty much fucks over any chance of an acurate reading. Although for a 100% garuntee it's best to abstain from smoking for about 3 days.

Edit~ Also a creatine suplement works wonders but if you take too much you can break out in a rash.

Edit#2~ Even so the body does to an extent make it's own THC, it's a very little bit, more than you would ever get from second hand smoke at a concert. That's why piss tests have clearances. If you have to low of a count it = dilution if you have to high of a count it = you smoked pot.

 

You know whats fun is to eat 2 poppy seed muffins a day for the three days leading up to the test including the morning of the test. It fails you and reads as opium :chuckles:

 

It's funny because that has been used as an excuse until they bust out the hair strand test.

 

Yeah but most companies won't opt for strand tests unless it is a government job due to cost. The average strand test runs in the neighborhood of $400+ last time I heard and takes a week or two to get results. The plus is they can narrow it down to within days of last use and it is admissable in court.

 

Wow. 400$? That's insane.

 

Yeah back in late 90s going rate was closer to 600 per test and most companies made you pay the bill if it became a matter of having to go that route.
