Is that the trick to rock crawling?

seriously, this one is just too damn easy to flame. Ebrake FTW....and only at the track to heat up your tires.

Heating up street tires = pointless.

Made it easier for me to hook up. :dunno:

When i didn't heat them up, i was a few tenths slower and broke loose when launching at 2500ish....when warm, i could launch at 3000

I was talking about on the Accord...but yeah sometimes you have to warm up the tires in rock crawling but you don't do it the same way as you do in drag racing. Usually that is done on course by spinning against the rocks you are trying to climb and they eventually soften enough to grab or burn off enough rubber to increase traction.

I guarentee you it wasn't because of you spinning the tires and it was a coincedance. Soft compound tires do not "heat up", they become softer in hotter conditions but they do not retain heat.

DR's do. Spend 5 minutes doing a burnout and run outside and touch your tire. It might be slightly warm to the touch but it won't get sticky hot like a DR or slick.
