I'm trying to work on my take-home midterm right now. Its due tomorrow. Take home sounds really nice, but trust me, it isn't. Its all on the economy and law of the ancient near east, and half of my midterm is about terms I totally don't understand, like "alienation of land."

I know how those go Jess. I had a class that was nothing but take-home midterms and final.

"alienation of land"...wouldn't that be exploiting the land for self-benefit?

On Tuesday at 0900h, I've got an in-class essay mid-term in HIST489.
The professor expects 15 specific citations.. from memory.

Either I'll be arguing how the economic effects of the Virgina Company influenced the divergent attitudes toward slavery in the 1800s.. or I'll be arguing how the social context of post-Reconstruction legislation led to the disenfranchisement of newly freed blacks.

Either way, the exam is without notes and without any books.

The topic will be chosen at random by the professor and it counts for a quarter of our semester grade. :noes:

 

I have midterms next week. For College Comp, we have 6 hours of in class time to write the essay in class. I found the artcile we have to write the paper on online and just e-mailed it to myself. :rofl:
