the signifigance of buddy miles can be speculated-- jimi would have drawn a white phyc. audience like he normally did. that was the reason he disbanded experience and wen twith the band of gypsies. the black radio stations just werent picking up his stuff, they were playing r&b and soul-- artists like aretha franklin, etc. he needed buddy miles to get him in the door.

as for allman, that is a fact. most of the songs were already written and some of them were already being recorded when allman joined up and added his little extra. to be honest layla as an album showcased how well their styles mixed if anything.
