So these people who have been constantly throwing rocks and projectiles at the troops for weeks, months, and years, finally get caught and they're expected to be treated nicely?

Protests are part of democracy, whether you like it or not, and the more you beat them down, the more they get pissed off. Our presence in Iraq depends on popular opinion. As soon as people don't want us there, it's over. Some soldiers beating on citizens for throwing rocks CAN NOT happen. According to the world, we must be PERFECT.
