takes more than -15 F (-26C) to instantly freeze water like that. It needs to be more like -40C or colder before that happens. I've lived in areas where it gets to -15C and its just plain freakin cold, and at about -25C if you sniff your nose it has a tendency to freeze shut

I've been skiing before and it was literally -60C to -80C with the wind chill at the peak.


They were snowmobiling people off the moutain... that was the coldest I had ever been, and I wouldnt want to really do it again.
