well actually there is a ton of room in the engine bay, but axles and linkage would be the hardest part. They have gotten one in the bay ,but gave up and scrapped the project. As for the miles I have 286,000 on the chassis and original motor before the swap. Here is a picture of the room left after a slim fan install.

After a little hammering the hood closes now . From sourcing the mounts (rare PRI part), to buying the car, to building the motor myself, to the two days it took to drop in, and then about a week or two to get it running right was about a year and a half.

Thats a good price, but you have to find the mount kit or be good at welding to get that motor in there. Heres picture of the tranny mount

I am contemplating selling my rusting 97 Civic before its worthless and buying a less then $1000 hatch to drove until I have career money coming in...

If you change the oil, it will last forever . Just make sure to get an LX-i or Sei so you dont have to worry about the crappy carb.
