Default can you live on just drinks and no food

my classmates in my health class were having this agruement today and i disagreed with all of them that you can live of just drinks and no food for at least a year. meaning energy drinks, orange juice, apple juice, ect...
i think that it is possilbe.

If vegetables and nutrients are incorporated into the drinks, including smoothies and stuff, I'm pretty sure its possible.

I think I might have to disagree. Food gives you protiens and other nutrients that some drinks don't have. Unless you're drinking protein shakes and that kind of stuff, but even those alone would cause problems within your body.

Yes you can. The downside to it is your teeth will go bad.

you'd need to have all vitamins and protiens put into these drinks. Solid food and liquid food are all the same when it gets into your gut.

I can't remember the name of it, but it's when you only drink liquids and get very little food into your system, your stomach bulges out - sort of like a beer belly. Besides, you'd be very weak if you only drank liquids unless, like you said, proteins and other necessary nutrients are included.

they keep people alive on feeding tubes though a nutrient gel ... it sounds like that could be drinkable.
