i dont see the problem as long as u change the oil and anything else that might be cruicial to the engine itself regulary or sooner rather than later because ur redlining it... wouldnt it work? in theory that is

I'm sure it works it just doesn't seem right to me. If you can't do it for a clutch, then why an engine..

thats the other prob, people change their oil too early, from the factory they put additives to help break in some and when u change the oil too soon u get rid of those additives.

Piston rings seating properly is the important part of engine break in. With a very fine hone, like on a diamond cutter, almost no break in is required, and there are instant seal rings available on the market.

ok so for engine break in, you redline... but u cant do this to a new clutch? god damn... i was shifting pretty high for 5miles then got onto the freeway after i got my new clutch installed

Who says you can't do it for a clutch? I broke in my ACT clutch I had in my Civic for all of 10 yards...
